3 Things That Lead to Happiness.

It’s hard, right? Sometimes you want to give up because you feel there’s no point. Well, beautiful soul, I’m here to remind you that YOU are exactly the point.

Here are three very simple things you can do to make yourself happy and how it’ll help you.

1. Say I Love You to yourself

If you feel like no one else is giving you love, give it to yourself. Apparently, love is the secret to the universe (TImo Tolkki) and it makes the world go round (Deon Jackson). Seriously.

You have to love yourself properly so others can love you the way you love yourself and more. Look in the mirror and say I love you at least once a day. It may seem ridiculous at first but the more energy of love you give to yourself, the more love you won’t need from anyone else. It’s the equivalent to putting yourself first.

2. Affirmations

Now that you’ve said I love you to yourself, it’s time to give positive and motivating traits to yourself. This may seem weird or dumb, but how many times have you heard negative comments and thoughts that were geared towards you? You believed them and it hurt you in some way. It’s time start believing the positive ones now.

The brain is a funny thing. It has been scientifically proven that you can retrain your brain to become more positive. Therapists do it all the time for their clients through cognitive behavior therapy. Why not do it for yourself?

Find a list of affirmations to say out loud or go on Youtube and listen to them. You’ll be surprised at how much your perspective and thoughts will change.

3. Gratitude

When someone says thank you, it makes you feel good because you were able to help and make them feel good for something. Being grateful isn’t just for Thanksgiving once a year. It’s every single day. And it will you help you realize how much value there is to your life.

Like I mentioned before, put yourself first. Be grateful for life and your experiences because they shape who you are today.

Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, your happiness is also a slow progression. This list isn’t an instant solution, it’s baby steps towards it. Things aren’t going to be easy. And just so you know, it’ll probably get even tougher before it gets any better. You have to start somewhere.

Be kind to yourself, beautiful soul. You deserve it. I love you.
